I’m a person of color and first generation immigrant from Iran. While I work with people from a wide range of backgrounds - from Native Americans, to Arminian and Roma - I have found I do some of my best work with immigrants and children of immigrants.

My style is frank. I believe being honest is the kindest, most compassionate way of treating people and it brings about powerful healing and change.  I work mainly with 3 groups:  (1) adult survivors of childhood abuse (physical, sexual and psychological); (2) successful professionals who find themselves unhappy even though they have done “everything they were supposed to;” (3) & parents who, in addition to dealing with the heavy burden of parenthood, are concerned their harmful childhood experiences is damaging their relationships with their children.

Prior to this work, I was a human rights attorney. I worked with victims of torture and government persecution and documented their experiences in preparation for trial. I have heard the darkest places one can be. I also know the many ways a psyche bends itself to protect us from the unbearable. I know the path to healing as I have walked it myself.
